Overview

Certiport runs entry-level and skills certifications for several software makers. They include Microsoft Office Specialist, IC3 Digital Literacy, Adobe Certified Professional, Autodesk Certified User and IT Specialist. Exams are taken at Certiport Authorized Testing Centres, often in schools and colleges.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)

Associate and Expert exams in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more. Live-in-the-application tasks.

IC3 Digital Literacy (GS6)

Three levels covering computing basics, online skills and digital citizenship.

Adobe Certified Professional

Exams in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Express, Firefly and others.

Autodesk Certified User

Exams in AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Fusion, Maya and 3ds Max.

IT Specialist

Entry-level exams in areas such as networking, cyber security, programming and AI.

Certiport sections

MOS (Microsoft 365 Apps)50 minutes. Word, Excel, PowerPoint: 33-37 tasks. Expert exams: 23-27.
IC3 Digital Literacy GS650 minutes per level, 45-50 questions.
Adobe Certified Professional50 minutes, 30-45 items depending on the app. Mix of questions and in-app tasks.
Autodesk Certified User50 minutes, 30-40 items depending on the app.
IT Specialist50 minutes, 31-50 questions depending on the exam.

Total time: 50 minutes per exam (timed portion only).

Scores and validity

Scoring
Scaled score from 1 to 1,000. The pass mark is always set at 700.
Validity
For certifications earned from mid-2025: MOS 5 years (free renewal adds 3 years); Adobe Certified Professional 3 years; Autodesk Certified User 5 years; IT Specialist 5 years; IC3 Digital Literacy does not expire. Earlier certificates do not expire.

Identification

Candidates need a Certiport profile; ID rules are set by the testing centre under Certiport policy. Not verified this session.

How to book

Exam seats for Certiport are booked and paid on the test owner's own system. Delivered through: Certiport.

    Create a Certiport account and book through a Certiport Authorized Testing Centre (locate one on certiport.pearsonvue.com).

    Choose an approved test centre from the test owner's centre list.

  3. 3

    Book your date with that centre; it confirms the fee and its policies.

    Keep your confirmation and check the ID rules before test day.

Certiport FAQs

Can I take Certiport exams at any Pearson VUE centre?
No. Most Certiport exams are taken at Certiport Authorized Testing Centres, which is a separate network.
Do MOS certificates expire?
MOS certificates earned from 23 September 2025 expire after five years. You can renew once, free of charge, which adds three years.
How soon can I retake a MOS exam?
24 hours after the first failed attempt, then 48 hours between later attempts.
What is the pass mark?
Certiport reports scores on a 1-1,000 scale. 700 is always the pass mark.
